  Introduction

--
The Database for Mechanical Properties of Concrete contains more than 3,000 data not only on mechanical properties of concrete such as compressive strength, tensile strength, modulus of rupture, modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio but also on such information about concrete mixture as type of constituent materials, mix proportion and specific density of concrete.
--The data were collected from experimental results obtained at various research institutes in Japan. The symposium paper listed is presented at the Third International Symposium on Utilization of High Strength Concrete held in Lillehammer, Norway in June 1993. The equation for the relationship between compressive strength and modulus of elasticity, which was proposed in the paper, has been adopted as a standard expression in AIJ (Architectural Institute of Japan) Standard for Structural Calculation of Reinforced Concrete Structures.

Examples of Usages of this Database

Case 1. Search by selecting items of properties (normal search)

1: Check the boxis you want on each property to search from the database.

2: If you want to search by all items of a property, check the top box painted gray. And all items will be checked automatically.

3: The properties "Type of Curing", "W/C" and "Strength", are prepared for numerical values. Set numerical values either for minimum and maximam values to search if you want.

Finally, push "search" button on the upper right of the window to search.

Case 2. Sort Data by properties

1: In addition to normal search, if you want to sort data, go to the upper right. You can find two listboxis.

2: Select an item for sorting in the listbox "Sorting Priority."

3: Select either "ascending" for ascending order of data
or "descending" for descending order.

Case 3. Get Mix Proportion in detail

1: If you want to get mix proportion of the data which you selected, take a look at the right item named "Mix Proportion" on the results.

2: Value "available" on "Mix proportion" indicates to the page for mix proportion of the data, and you can click to get it.
Value of "unavailable" means that mix proportion could not be calcurated because of lacking of required data.

3: If you want to exclude data without mix proportion, you should check the box "Set only data with mix".
