A new paper has been published by Cement and Concrete Research. This paper is about how the accelerated carbonation process is changed by the given RH environment, and explains why the accelerated carbonation at high RH (above 90% RH) is dramatically slowed down. We confirmed that the Ca ion is moved from inside to the surface, and the pore size distribution is substantially changed and becomes finer. The moisture transport, phase change, and pore size distribution were identified by Single-sided 1H NMR relaxometry and micro-XRD techniques.
The paper is open access. Please check it.
