This year’s “Tarmack Cup” softball tournament, an annual exchange event among building materials laboratories in the Kanto region, was held once again. The competition has been organized every year since its start in 2010, bringing together research groups from nine universities for friendly yet spirited matches.

Unfortunately, our team from the University of Tokyo’s Building Materials Laboratory, led by Professor Noguchi, finished near the bottom this year. It was a disappointing result, but the tournament still offered a great opportunity for teamwork,交流, and refreshing moments outside the laboratory. The weather was perfect throughout the day, and we were able to enjoy the event safely without the risk of the rainy-day alternative—an indoor dodgeball tournament.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the host university and all organizers for planning and managing another enjoyable tournament and social gathering this year.

The venue for next year’s tournament has not yet been decided. We look forward to participating again, and we warmly welcome our alumni to join us as well. Let’s aim for a strong comeback next time.
