The softball tournament “Tarmac Cup,” held annually as a networking event for building material labs in the Kanto region, has been ongoing since 2010. For the 2024 tournament, nine universities’ building material labs gathered at the host school, Kogakuin University’s Hachioji Campus.

This year, under the leadership of Professor Noguchi, our University of Tokyo Building Materials Lab passed the league stage in first place and achieved a remarkable third place in the final tournament! We even won matches where all team members participated, sharing the joy of victory together.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the host school and the organizing committee. The cup of next year is scheduled to be held at Tokyo University of Science’s Noda Campus. We warmly invite all alumni to join us for the event. We aim to reclaim the championship in the next tournament, just as we did in the 3rd cup in 2013!
